On December 25, 2025, the Joint Research Center for Smart Transportation and New Energy System Simulation, co-established by Beijing Jiaotong University and Shanghai KeLiang Information Technology Co., Ltd., was inaugurated at the School of Electrical Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University. The center will focus on key technologies such as smart transportation, new energy system simulation, and digital twins, driving the application of these technologies in real-world scenarios to support the green, low-carbon transformation and collaborative innovation of the transportation and energy industries.

Dean Wu Mingli warmly welcomed the delegation from KeLiang and systematically introduced the School's development history, disciplinary strengths, faculty expertise, and research capabilities. He emphasized that the co-established Joint Research Center represents a forward-looking initiative aligning with China's “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals" and "A Country with Strong Transportation Network" strategies. By integrating the School's research expertise in power electronics, electric traction, and rail electrification with KeLiang industrial resources in digital simulation, the collaboration aims to translate theoretical innovation into industrial advancement, fostering mutual benefits and driving the digital, green, and synergistic evolution of transportation and energy systems.
Professor Guo Xizheng, Head of the Joint Research Center, detailed the Center's three-year development blueprint and objectives. Experts engaged in in-depth discussions on strategic positioning, key technological pathways, and talent cultivation mechanisms. Deputy Dean Wang Jianqiang and Professor You Xiaojie proposed synergistic innovation and talent development models aligned with the School's disciplinary framework, while Dr. Zhu Yiying shared forward-looking insights on intelligent transportation and new energy simulation technologies. The session fostered a highly engaged atmosphere, solidifying consensus and charting actionable pathways for collaborative innovation.
